Whether you are a committed runner or an occasional jogger, heading into the fresh air with your baby is a great opportunity for mom to take a break and feel healthy while enjoying the outdoors with your little bundle of joy. Make sure you have the right equipment for the job by following these top tips from Thule Active with Kids:

Do the research

Safety is your number one priority when choosing a jogging stroller. Look at the materials used, flexibility, safety and quality. You want to see features such as a 5-point safety harness and an integrated hand brake.

Protection and contact is key

Keep your baby cool and out of direct sunlight during your run with a multi-position canopy. Remember to look for one with a clear roof section so that you can always keep an eye on your little passenger.

Ensure a smooth ride

If you love trail running, you want to opt for large wheels and good suspension to give your child a comfy ride while you are exploring nature. The more comfortable the ride, the longer and faster you can run.

Go easy on yourself

Running with a baby requires flexibility. Not only do you need to get used to running with a different stride now that you are pushing a little human along, but your little one may also not be in the mood which could cut your running plans short. Choose a lightweight stroller that will be easier to push up a hill and accept that any run is a good run.

Get slimy

The last thing you need is to get stuck with a puncture halfway through your run. Go prepared and avoid the drama by putting slime into the tubes of the tyres. Should you get a puncture, the slime will seal up the hole and allow you to continue on your merry way.
